Part of the reason I created this blog was to post announcements about the Latin Mass offered in the Illinois Valley.
I will no longer need to do this since a brand new expanded website as been launched to support the parishes of St. Valentine Catholic Church and St. Mary Catholic Church, both located in Peru, IL.
I still may post announcements from time to time, but for full parish schedules including the ability to view the latest bulletins, go here-

OPPOSE PROPOSED ILLINOIS SENATE BILL 136
This bill is a threat/eventual threat to the rights of Illinois home schoolers.
On the surface, the bill does not look too threatening- but I think this bill is only a first step and there will be more attempts at state control of home school curriculum in the future. Home schools are sacred places and many families home school for moral/religious reasons, not just academic ones. The state has no business in our homes and how we educate OUR children. Have they not done enough damage in the public schools, providing an environment of indifferentism, liberalism, modernism, and every other negative "ism" that can come to mind?
Fight this bill. If we give them an inch they will take a mile.

Enthusiasm 101
I'm a bit late getting this posted but the premise of the banner is what's important. If only all priests were as supportive of the Latin Mass.....
